DIY Strawberry Leaf Toner

IMG_20150315_192349
Enjoying some strawberries? Don’t toss the tops!
They’ve got many of the same skin toning and acne-fighting properties as the berries themselves like vitamin C and salicylic acid.
For an easy DIY Strawberry Leaf Toner:
Brew a weekly batch like tea with about a cup of water and a big handful of strawberry leaves. Wipe on or mist onto skin after cleansing to get those vitamins and fruit acids! Keep refrigerated to preserve freshness and use within a week.

Apple Peels

Easy peels with real fruit acids.
Alpha-hydroxy acids, like malic acid found in apples, naturally help exfoliate skin and remove the top layer of dead skin cells. They also promote a healthier, firmer skin tone. Get a quick and easy facial peel at home with fresh apple slices! Just wipe on, leave 5-10 minutes, then rinse clean.
Sensitive skin can be irritated by alpha-hydroxy acids, so do a patch test or try diluting some apple puree or apple juice with agave, oatmeal, or water (for a thin application). Mix with grapes, tomatoes, or strawberries for additional fruit acids, and keep skin protected from heavy sun exposure immediately after – it can temporarily increase sensitivity to sunburns on your fresh, new skin.
You can also make any of our Fresh Masks with real apple (or other) fruit juice to add extra effects to your face mask.
